Zen

Calm in quietude is not real calm;
when you can be calm in the midst of activity,
this is the true state of nature.

Happiness in comfort is not real happiness;
when you can be happy in the midst of hardship,
then you see the true potential of the mind.
-Huanchu Daoren

Something I picked up in a Zen book.
How true they are.

Something we should be reminded of once in a while...

I received a mail and it's subtance caught my attention.
They are so true and yes, we need to be reminded of it once in a while.

"What surprises you most about humankind?"

"That they get bored with childhood,
they rush to grow up, and then
long to be children again."

"That they lose their health to make money...
and then lose their money to restore their health."

"That by thinking anxiously about the future,
they forget the present,
such that they live in neither
the present nor the future."

"That they live as if they will never die,
and die as though they had never lived."

Some life lessons:
"To learn they cannot make anyone
love them. All they can do
is let themselves be loved."

"To learn that it is not good
to compare themselves to others."

"To learn to forgive
by practicing forgiveness."

"To learn that it only takes a few seconds
to open profound wounds in those they love,
and it can take many years to heal them."

"To learn that a rich person
is not one who has the most,
but is one who needs the least."

"To learn that there are people
who love them dearly,
but simply have not yet learned
how to express or show their feelings."

"To learn that two people can
look at the same thing
and see it differently."

"To learn that it is not enough that they
forgive one another, but they must also forgive themselves."

My personal message to myself: =)
Thus, I am happy where I am in life. I am fully content,
I need not prove myself to anyone, I dont care if people judge me,
I just want to live my life and be at peace with my mind.

SweEt Ir0Ny of a PeaCeful reL|gi0n

A dear belgian friend of mine wrote this poem. He has a sarcastic kind of humor which I find to be amusing and entertaining. Anyway, I love this poem of his. I find it, especially the very last two lines to be meaningful. (he is very annoying too but here is the link to his site: RANDOM CRAP )

*This poem is not written or meant to be directed or to inflame anyone or anything*

I told someone I like to help
Because it makes me feel good

I told someone I want world peace
Because it takes the guilt away

I told someone I never hate
Because it only attracts more hate

I told someone I don't discriminate
Because it means we're not all the same

I told the same guy I don't believe in Jesus
He told me I would rot in hell
